The Angel is currently closed while we take some time to consider its next chapter.
As part of this period, we’ll be carefully reviewing how the building can best serve the village, our guests, and the wider community for years to come.
The Angel has long held an important place at the heart of village life - as a pub, restaurant, and place to stay - and we’re keen to ensure whatever comes next builds thoughtfully on that history and character. Alongside The Crown, just across the road, we see an opportunity to consider how both buildings can complement one another into the future.
We’ll share more updates in due course. In the meantime, we’d like to thank everyone for their continued support and patience while we take the time to shape our plans carefully.
Staying at The Angel

Guests can still stay in The Angel’s bedrooms.
The Angel bedrooms now sit alongside The Crown’s Folly bedrooms and new lodges, forming one collection of places to stay.
Check-in takes place at The Crown opposite, where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served, unless you’re joining a celebration at The Angel. It keeps everything connected, while allowing each space to do what it does best.
Dining at The Crown Inn
While our food and drink offering is currently on hold, we’d love to welcome you at our sister pub, The Crown Inn, just across the road. Rooted in the village and known for its relaxed atmosphere, The Crown serves seasonal menus built around pub classics, fresh fish and local produce, alongside a thoughtful wine list and beautiful garden terrace. Whether you're joining for a leisurely lunch, dinner with friends or a traditional Sunday roast, you'll be in good hands.
