Working with local producers

In Suffolk there is a wealth of fantastic producers on our doorstep and we work closely alongside our suppliers and producers to ensure that The Angel Inn offers a taste of Constable Country when you visit. The local businesses we work with allow head chef Ruben Aguilar Bel to incorporate local ingredients into our menu. 

The Suffolk Spice Company, based in nearby Lavenham, offers a range of herbs and spices from around the world. When Ruben met Stuart, founder of The Suffolk Spice Company, he immediately saw Stuart’s “passion for spices and combinations, as well as looking for the local flavours to create combinations of herbs from Lavenham or Suffolk.” 

Stuart Wire, his wife Julie and their boys take advantage of their experiences from around the world and help bring together everything they’ve learned. The Suffolk Spice Company has benefitted from Stuart’s time in the Ariège region of the South of France to family holidays across Italy and the Middle East, helping to deliver a truly unique taste to our dishes at The Angel Inn.
